Intelligence Summary - October 20th

1. Overview

Recent intel provided by civilians rescued during the assault on OBJ Hawkins has shed critical light on Operation Silent Path. These individuals have confirmed that the Covenant are specifically targeting personnel with knowledge of Forerunner sites on Vandros-7.

2. Designated Sites of Interest

  • Site Alpha:
A research facility dedicated to the study of Forerunner small-scale artifacts, including potential keyships or Forerunner data storage devices

  • Site Bravo:
The primary mining operation on the island, believed to be targeting Forerunner artifacts buried deep within the bedrock. Covenant Scarab platforms have been observed conducting excavation here.

  • Site Charlie:
A chemical processing and washing facility used for industrial purposes, likely related to the purification and extraction of elements from Forerunner technology or artifacts recovered in the mining operation. This site also processes raw materials for further analysis and storage. We are unsure what, if any, use this has to the Covenant.

  • Site Delta:
The island’s barracks and logistics hub, housing personnel, supplies, and vehicles. It serves as the main living quarters and operational command for ONI.

3. Tactical Situation

  • Evacuation and Strategic Destruction:
Due to the strategic importance of these sites, we are tasked with ensuring the Covenant cannot access or exploit any Forerunner technology or data. B Company has secured 10 Fury nuclear devices (it was 11, then they ran over one and blew it up), which are to be planted at key locations across the island to eliminate all traces of Forerunner involvement. These devices will be set to detonate following the evacuation of our forces.

  • Road Access:
There is only one road leading on and off the island, and this access point must be heavily defended after pulling back until all demolition charges are in place. Once the Fury devices are armed, all remaining UNSC forces will withdraw from the area across the bridges.

4. Covenant Air Superiority

  • Covenant Air Superiority:
The Covenant continues to maintain air superiority across the region. Their dominance in the skies has limited our ability to provide air support. Any operations conducted must be done with limited air cover. Task Force Pegasus remains engaged in orbital skirmishes but has yet to establish clear control.

  • Limited UNSC Air Assets:
Our air assets remain minimal, and we do not expect significant air support during this operation. Ground forces will bear the primary responsibility for ensuring the success of the demolition.

5. Remaining UNSC and ONI Forces

  • 104th Armored Division & 212th Colonial Guard:
The 104th Armored Division and remnants of the 212th Colonial Guard are tasked with securing nearby evacuation zones and moving critical personnel out of the island's vicinity. They are working to relocate all forces from the immediate area as the demolition charges are prepared.

  • ONI Detachment:
What remains of the ONI detachment that was originally assigned to protect and oversee these sites is likely either captured or killed. We have received orders that all survivors discovered during the mission are to be liquidated immediately.
